The Weekend Ahead -- Shooters News

Just a short msg this week about a few activities for Minn Shooters.  I have been neglecting my duties as Blog master here this past couple weeks, as I have been working on projects for the new target pits at my Out of Town range here at Rio Salado Sportsman's Club in Mesa, AZ.  We are building a whole new complete set of target pits at the 300 yd line, so all phases of OTC matches can be shot from the regular 500yd line.  200yd standing, Sitting and 300yd reduced rapid will be shot on the new pits 200yds out in front of the 500, and then pullers will move to the old pits for mid range 500 yds slow fire. This arrangement will lessen the need for folks to be down range during OTC matches and subject to possible bullets falling out of the sky from ricochets off the main public range. So Bill Luth and my self have been making all new target frames (4' x 6') and uprights for the 15 new target carriers to be installed in the coming weeks. The pit wall is poured, catwalk is poured, footings for the target carriers are being poured today. Life is good.
