Kurt Borlaug says he is getting a lot of interest from people wanting to participate in the GRRC Monday evening Small Bore league. He would like every one that does have such interest to contact him asap so plans can be made. Some retired shooters have indicated that they would like to shoot earlier in the day (morning?) and if this is the case, I can probably host/run the morning shoot.
Please contact Kurt at kubeborlaug@msn.com or call at 651-464-5421 (H) or 651-263-4576 (cell)

Free Pistol----Late post

Subject: Free Pistol (Olympic 50 Meter) Season Begins on May 2nd at Oakdale.Date: Fri, 24 Apr 2009 19:09:28 -0500

Shooters All. This is a reminder that the Free Pistol Season begins the first Saturday of May at Oakdale Gun Club. There will be two matches a month over the summer and fall. They will rotate between Oakdale Gun Club and the Minneapolis Rifle Club range in Saint Francis. Details are on the Minnesota Rifle and Revolver site under pistol. The fees will be $10 per match so as to generate a bit of revenue for each of the clubs. We have to pay the landlord. When we shoot for National Ranking, there will be an additional $5 levied to cover registration fees. The preparation period at Oakdale starts at 9, at MRC at 10. One match a month will be for National Ranking. The first such will be at the MRC range later in May. Hoping to see you all there.

The Week Ahead -- 4/20/09

4/20/09
Shooters
Fifteen shooters exercised their trigger fingers in the early spring weather this past Saturday at Elk River Sportsman's club for the first local OTC match. Kevin Bangen was Top Gun defending his last year's State Championship win. He won using an AR-15 .223 match rifle, proving less is best. Threatening weather on Sunday reduced the turnout somewhat, but Omar Hamer turned in a fine score for the win.
This coming weekend traveling shooters will find their way to Eau Claire Rifle Club for a Mid Range match on Sat., and an 80 shot OTC Sunday. There are no local matches scheduled.
